Fullwood, Albert Henry

ALBERT HENRY FULLWOOD was born U.K. 1863.  Arrived Australia 1881.  Fullwood was a significant force in Sydney art scene.  He practised etching and painted at the Roberts – Streeton camp at Sirius Cove.  In 1895 he helped to establish the NSW Society of Artists.  Exhibited in London and Paris. This important piece of early Australian Impressionism was painted for prominent public servant Alexander Oliver also a keen yachtsman whose boat ‘Antidote’ was decorated by several of Fullwood’s paintings from the 1890’s.
