John Skinner Prout (1806 – 1876) Arrived Sydney 1840. Moved to Hobart and had first Colony’s Exhibition 1845. Issued series of lithographs ‘Tasmania Illustrated’ in two parts. Represented Hobart Gallery and State Galleries. In London made Member of Royal Institute of Painters, exhibiting for the rest of his life.
