SIR ARTHUR STREETON born 1867 is one of Australia’s best known and loved artists.  A leading member of the Heidelberg School.  The above stunning watercolour was painted in Venice during his honeymoon in 1908.  Whilst in U.K. he exhibited at the Royal Academy.  He returned to Melbourne May 1914 with a collection of works mainly of Britain and Venice.  An exhibition was held at Victorian Artists Society which sold well. A Venetian oil painting sold recently for $613,636. Died 1943.
