Ball, Adam Gustavus

(1821 - 1882)

Adam G Ball (1821-1882) Emigrated from Ireland to NSW in early 1839. He worked in Sydney as a civil engineer for eight years before moving to Adelaide.  Well known for his exceptional detailed sketches of cattle musters, emu and kangaroo hunting scenes etc.  Ball exhibited at Society of Arts, Adelaide.  Represented in the National Library of Australia, The Art Gallery of S.A and many private collections.  Much of his work is signed A.G.B.
