Rouge Wave and The Great Southern

2019

Acrylic on Belgium Linen

100 cm x 150 cm

Signed lower right.

The painting was inspired by a trip to Victor Harbour and a remote beach called Kings Beach. The gravel road into Kings Beach winds through treeless rolling hills covered in hay fields all to a back drop of the great Southern Ocean...looking south at the endless ocean you realise next stop out there is Antarctica. Stranded in the middle of nowhere was a very dilapidated trawler on a hard stand surrounded by hay fields it was so surreal I had to paint it.

South Australia is famous for its pelicans and when you visit Victor Harbour there are huge flocks of them....
